You can speak with a Study Skills tutor in several ways: On a face-to-face basis by booking a tutorial, or dropping in without an appointment at specified times, or by attending a workshop which would include other students. You can use email or ring our Service telephone number to ask a quick question, or leave a message so that a tutor can get in touch with you by telephone or Skype. If you’d rather speak with another student, you might like to contact the student Mentoring Scheme, or attend PASS (Peer Assisted Study Session).
You can book a tutorial with a tutor on a one-to-one basis or for a very small group studying the same module. Bookings can be made using our on-line booking system or by visiting the Campus Advice Zone. Or, you can ring 01443 482990 to make the appointment.
If you are booking on behalf of a group then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can book a larger room, if necessary.
Suitable for quick queries and urgent questions. Sessions can last up to half an hour. Only available during term-time, and check our on-line booking system before attending.
Monday – Friday – 9.30-10.30 am.
Glyntaff, Cardiff and Newport campuses: all the details are found on our Contact Us page.
We offer a comprehensive programme of workshops delivered by all our tutors. One programme runs in the Autumn term and one in the Spring term. All the topics with dates and venues can be found here.
About social and practical issues
As students you might also find yourself having to learn about different social conventions, becoming more culturally aware or simply wanting to know about where to shop or take exercise. Whether you’d like a Mentor to help with these kinds of issues or you would like to be a Mentor to help other students contact email@example.com to find out how to get involved or visit the website Student Mentoring Scheme to find out more about the scheme.
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
Piloted for the first time in 2015/16 this scheme aims to provide additional study sessions for targeted groups of students. PASS leaders facilitate study directed, course specific sessions to help students engage in some of the more demanding aspects of courses. Please get in touch if you would like to benefit from this support or are interested in becoming a PASS leader.
