What is it?
Small informal group where students can actively develop their academic writing skills.
How does it work?
Students meet weekly for 6 weeks at the beginning of term.
Students are encouraged to write short pieces of text and evaluate these with peers.
Facilitated by an experienced Study Skills Tutor.
Who is it for?
Those students who are anxious about writing at HE level.
What are the benefits?
Gain confidence by practicing written, analytical and reflective skills.
Have early experience of verbally communicating ideas in a group setting at HE.
Where and when?
For autumn 2017, we ran writing clubs for students to attend in person at both Treforest and Glyntaff campuses with great success. We are in the process of developing an online version, and therefore are hoping to run this six-week online course in March 2018.
